14Twelve

For indie Android developers

12 testers. 14 days. Without the chaos.

Before a new developer account can launch, Google Play asks for a closed test with at least 12 testers, opted in for 14 days in a row. 14Twelve pairs you with other developers who need the same thing, and keeps every swap honest so you're not starting the clock over.

Waitlist members get in first. We'll only email you about 14Twelve, and every email has a one-click way off the list.

Getting 12 testers is the easy part.
Keeping them is the problem.

Reddit threads and email groups work, sort of. You post, you swap, and then you spend two weeks checking who actually showed up.

SWAPS GO QUIET

You test theirs. They never test yours.

You install, send proof, and wait. No reply, no join, and no way to tell which swaps are still alive.

DAY 9 DROPOUTS

One tester leaves and the count falls short.

Drop under 12 before day 14 and you can lose the streak Google is counting.

ALL ON YOU

Spreadsheets, screenshots, reminders.

Who joined the group, who opted in, who installed, who needs a nudge. It's a second job on top of building the app.

How 14Twelve works

Built around the exact steps Google asks for, so nothing falls through the cracks.

  1. Add your app

Paste your testing link. 14Twelve sets up the tester group and the steps other developers need to follow.

  2. Get matched

Swap with developers who need testers too. You test theirs, they test yours.

  3. Both sides checked

Joins and opt-ins are verified for you, and quiet partners get a friendly nudge, so you don't have to chase anyone.

  4. Count to 14

Watch your 12 hold for 14 days. When Google approves your app, your test link turns into a thank-you page that points people to the live app.

Swaps that hold up

No star ratings and no comment wars. Just a record of who actually follows through.

  • A completion record built only from verified actions, like "finished 9 of 10 swaps".
  • Reliable swappers get matched first. People who leave partners hanging go to the back of the line until they finish a swap.
  • Real developers only. No bots, no fake accounts, no paid testers.

Questions

Is this allowed?

14Twelve connects real developers who install and use each other's apps during closed testing. It doesn't sell testers, use bots, or promise approval. Google decides that, and 14Twelve helps you meet the testing requirement honestly.

When does it open?

We're building it now. Waitlist members get early access before anyone else, and we'll email you when your invite is ready.

What will it cost?

Pricing will be simple and per app. Waitlist members hear about it first, before launch.

Who's behind it?

Night Shift Studio, an indie developer in Indiana who went through the 12-tester grind with his own app and wanted a better way to do it.
